Database Intro
This is the database channel. Here you can browse through the genealogy database. The starting point would be the individuals list page, which contains an alphabetical list of all the individuals in the database. When you click on an individual in that list their primary family sheet will be displayed.
The primary family sheet is determined as follows: If the individual has no spouses and children then their primary family sheet will be their parents family sheet. If the individual has at least one spouse or one child then, their primary family sheet is one in which they are displayed as a parent.
From the family sheet page each parent will have none or more of the following links:
spouses - This link is available when the individual has multiple spouses. When clicked, a pop up window will display a list of the individual's other spouses. The primary spouse for this genealogy is distinguished by appearing in a bold font. By clicking one of the spouses, the family sheet will refresh with that spouse and the children of that relationship.
parents - This link is available when information on the individual's parents is known. The family sheet that contains the individual's parents and siblings will be displayed when clicked.
ancestors - This is link is available when information on the individual's ancestors is known. The individual's ancestor chart will be displayed. The ancestor chart contains the individual, the individual's parents, and both sets of grandparents. By clicking on the individual's name, their family group sheet will be displayed. By clicking on anyone else, the page is refreshed with that individual as the first person on the chart.
descendants - This link is available when the individual has children. All the individuals descendants will be displayed.
You can also use the navigation on the left hand side to change between the individuals family sheet, ancestor chart, and the descendants page.
